Event Decorating in Belleville, O’Fallon & Metro East: Your 2026 Local Guide
When you search «event decorator near me» in Belleville, O’Fallon, Swansea or anywhere across Metro East Illinois, dozens of options come up. And they all look good in photos.
But hiring a decorator for an important event isn’t only about how pretty the portfolio looks. It’s about who knows your venue, who shows up on time, who answers your message on a Tuesday at 9 p.m., and who stays until everything is right.

At Sorelle Atelier Event Design we’ve spent years decorating weddings, quinceañeras, graduations and celebrations across the Metro East region. This guide will show you exactly what to expect from a local decorator — and how to choose the right one for your event.

A real example: the same room, before and after
This is a real transformation we did at Stonewolf Golf Club in Fairview Heights. The first photo is the room exactly as it was handed to us: nice, but empty and without personality.

And here’s the same space after our setup: an organic balloon garland, entrance draping, dressed tables and coordinated centerpieces in a single palette.

Want the full behind-the-scenes of a transformation like this? We break it down step by step in our article on how we transformed an empty room for a graduation in under 6 hours.
Why hiring a decorator from your area matters
1. We know the venues before we arrive
Every venue has its own rules and challenges: what time you get access, whether ceiling rigging is allowed, whether there’s an elevator, where the loading entrance is, how far the parking lot sits from the door.
A decorator who has already worked in your venue doesn’t waste time figuring that out on event day — they arrive knowing. And that time turns into more detail in your decor.
2. Same-day setup and teardown, no drama
Most Metro East venues give you a limited window: you get in at a set time and the room has to be cleared that same night or early the next morning. Being 20 minutes away makes all the difference when teardown starts at 11 p.m.
3. We can visit your venue before quoting
Nothing replaces seeing a space in person — measuring the ceiling, seeing the wall colors, understanding the light. In Metro East that’s a short drive for us, not an expedition.

4. Truly bilingual service
We serve clients in English and Spanish with the same quality and attention. In a region where many families plan their events across two languages, being able to talk to your decorator with full confidence isn’t a luxury — it’s peace of mind.

How to choose your local decorator: 5 questions to ask
1. «Have you worked at my venue before?» If yes, ask to see photos from that room. If no, ask whether they can visit it before the event.
2. «Are setup and teardown included in the price?» At Sorelle Atelier they always are. Not every decorator works that way — get it in writing.
3. «Can I see a mood board before I sign?» A professional decorator can always show you visual references and a color palette before you make any payment.
4. «What happens if something breaks or fails on event day?» Ask whether they have their own staff, backup materials and liability insurance.
5. «How much time do you need to install?» You should get a concrete number, coordinated with your venue. If the answer is a vague «a few hours,» that’s a red flag.
Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book in Metro East? For peak season (May through August, plus December) we recommend 3 to 6 months. Summer weekends fill fast across the entire region.
Do you charge extra to travel to Collinsville or Edwardsville? No. The full Metro East region — St. Clair and Madison counties — is within our service area at no additional charge.
Do you coordinate with the venue, or do I have to? We coordinate access, setup and teardown times directly with your venue. You just enjoy your event.
Can I book a single item, like just the backdrop or arch? Yes. We offer individual item booking for clients who already have part of their decor covered and just need to complete the look.
Do you offer payment plans? Yes. An initial deposit secures your date, and the balance is split into payments up to two weeks before the event.
Do you serve clients in Spanish? Absolutely. We’re a fully bilingual team and we’re available by WhatsApp, phone or in person — in whichever language you prefer.
Your event deserves someone who knows your town
Decor is the first thing your guests see when they walk in, and it lives in every photo forever. Having it done by someone who knows your venue, your timelines and your language isn’t a small detail — it’s the difference between an event that goes well and one that goes perfectly.
At Sorelle Atelier Event Design we create events from the heart for families across Swansea, Belleville, O’Fallon, Collinsville, Fairview Heights, Edwardsville and all of Metro East Illinois.
